With a central focus on people and urban landscapes, this photographic project explores the convergence of Impressionism and the delicate fluidity of watercolor, reimagined through the medium of photography. By using long exposures and neutral density filters, the images capture moments where clarity gives way to suggestion and flow, evoking emotional depth rather than precision, provoking a sense of life and human presence through abstraction.
Each image aims to portray people not in precise detail, but as ephemeral presences—echoes of movement, gestures, and essence that connect with the viewer on an emotional level. The choice of shooting handheld enhances this effect, allowing intentional movement and panning to become integral parts of the creative process. This spontaneous, deliberate approach gives each image an almost dreamlike quality, as if the scenes exist in a liminal space between the real and the imagined, unfolding softly like watercolor strokes on damp paper.
Inspired by the way Impressionism values emotion over visual accuracy, and how watercolor dissolves to form fleeting, evocative scenes, this project seeks to portray life subjectively, honoring the essence of human presence through poetic, fluid imagery. It offers a unique vision of the world—a place where human lines soften, and the subtle beauty of existence is captured in its most ethereal form.
The project is in a solo exhibition in the meta verse, from May 23 until July 31, 2025. You can access the exhibition here.
